It would be better full closure of 2 lines, moving the road from 4 to 2 lanes in total and at 20mph to incorporate the office area to the town centre

As part of my commute by car, and as an occasional cyclist, I've become familiar with this route and the change. This is an area of congestion when traffic is at pre-covid levels. But then average vehicle speed is low and dual carriageway space means the road can be easily shared with cyclists by sensible, considerate driving. In practice, the volume of cyclists and pedestrians has not increased significantly to justify the change from what I have seen.

Despite being 'pared back' this still causes unnecessary congestion and does little/nothing in terms of pedestrain safety. It should just be removed, full stop.

Absolutely atrocious. This is a known pinch point made even worse by these measures, increasing standing traffic and pollution. Needs to stop.
